I recently purchased a liquid eyeliner in this gorgeous forest green color. I instantly thought this liner would be perfect for a tutorial inspired by my favorite sailor soldier, Sailor Jupiter! If you like makeup and anime references, read on for this fun tutorial!
This tutorial is mainly based around the Kat Von D Ink Liner in Bukowski (an author I personally hate, but the color rules). This liner is pretty darn awesome and it stays on super well. More importantly, it is a close color to the outfit of Sailor Jupiter, my ultimate fave.
I started off with a very natural skin look with the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation and some concealer. I think a tutorial inspired by a high school anime girl requires a flawless but natural look.
Next up, I used an eyelid primer as usual and added a neutral shadow from the Naked2 Basics palette with a taupe in the crease for definition. I like to create a bit of definition with a bold liner look occasionally. I also put some white eyeliner in my waterline to make my eyes look a bit bigger and more anime-esque.
Next was the eyeliner. I did a thin layer along the top lashes with a slight wing for a cute effect. Then I added mascara to my top and bottom lashes.
I think anime makeup is all about exaggeration, so I added some falsies on top even though I don’t normally use them. Makoto may be all about a natural complexion, but she needs those big anime lashes. Plus she likes to be girly too!
For the rest of my face I used a neutral pink blush for the girly look and a bit of highlighter to add some glow. On my lips I used a sparkly pink lipgloss for a natural shine.
And that’s the end of this tutorial! I wore my green shirt for a more Makoto vibe as well as my pink flower earrings which match hers so well! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, and like this post for more nerdy themed makeup in the future! I had a lot of fun with this one. Don’t forget to follow me on social media in the side bar!
