Hi all! As many other makeup addicts know, Sephora gives away a free birthday gift during the birthday month of all beauty insiders. I like to use this opportunity each year to spend way too much on makeup and not feel guilty. My sister came up for a visit and we had a great time doing some Sephora shopping and playing around with makeup! I’ve had about a week to mess around with these products and I will include some mini reviews along with each one. Read on for the haul!
First up is my favorite purchase in this haul, the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil! I’ve always wanted to try a bronzer, but most of them run too dark or orange for my fair complexion. I tested this bronzer a couple of times in different stores, and finally took the plunge! My review is glowing so far. The bronzer warms my face or works for a nice contour as well! Plus, it has a wonderful chocolate smell that I can’t resist! My sister bought the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and the smell had me wanting that product too!
My next purchase was a travel size of the Make Up For Ever Primer in Smoothing (curse you aisle of death near the checkout!). I heard KathleenLights (one of my favorite youtubers) recommend this primer and had to try it! I’ve never warmed up to a primer before, but this one feels very smoothing and nice on my face. Still not sure if it extends my makeup wear time, so the testing will have to continue.
I was so excited to buy a rollerball of the Elizabeth and James Nirvana White! This scent is so neutral and doesn’t overwhelm my nose when I first put it on. I got the small rollerball because I don’t use perfume enough to buy a whole bottle. It would definitely be a waste for someone like me.
I chose the skincare birthday gift this year because I wasn’t a fan of the lipstick color in the Marc Jacobs set. I’ve never tried fresh skincare, and I can’t wait to try this mask and cleanser! I haven’t opened them yet, but I’ll be sure to update you on the results.
Next up is a small sample of the NARS creamy concealer in the color vanilla. So far, I’m not that impressed with this concealer. For $12, the size is extremely small and the concealer is a little sticky for me. I still prefer my Maybelline Fit Me concealer so far, but I’m going to keep trying this one out for a while.
Next up is the tarte CC undereye corrector. I’ve never tried a color corrector before, but this product really does mask my undereye circles almost immediately! It is a bit sticky, so you might want to layer on a creamier concealer, but it works well on its own too.
My last Sephora product is another Cream Lip Stain in the color Mandarin Muse. I’ve been looking for another orange lip product, and I love this formula! Look forward to a tutorial on bright orange lipstick looks in the future!
I made a quick stop in the MAC store after Sephora and bought the eyeliner in Costa Riche. This is another recommendation from Kathleen and is supposed to look great with green eyes. I can attest that this warm brown does bring out my eye color a lot, and stays on pretty well too!
Finally are a couple of products I got on a whim in the drugstore. I bought two colors from the Essie spring collection, High Class Affair and Sunshine State of Mind. These colors are so beautiful and pigmented! I couldn’t help but buy two because I am addicted to spring colors. I also picked up another Star Wars mascara. I realized that my dislike for the product was due to it being waterproof. This regular version is much easier to deal with, although it’s still a bit messy. I’m really loving it so far!
Those are all of the products I picked up on my wild and crazy visit to Sephora in the city! Let me know if you want in depth reviews of any of these products in the future. Thanks for reading!

I agree! It’s such a good bronzer because it comes in different colors and is so finely milled!
