Hey all! I’m trying something new with this blog post and I hope you enjoy it! I’ve decided to include a look once a month that I’ve been wearing a ton. It’s kind of a reflection on what I’m liking lately and what style I like in the current season. Check out my look for June below and let me know what you think!
The basis of this look is a summer glimmer and glow. I want my skin to look I’m glowing from within and also that I’ve been in the sun (without my unsightly usual sunburn). I was drawn toward warm colors and comfortable clothes for the peak of summer.
The eye makeup for this look is extremely simple. You may recognize Colourpop’s Weenie from my Beyonce Look a little while ago. I put this shimmery rose gold all over my eyelid for a warm summer glow. I added winged black eyeliner for my classic cat eye. I finished with mascara for this simple look.
For my foundation, I used the It Cosmetics CC Cream. It has SPF which is a great extra layer of protection for my pale skin in the sun. I went pretty heavy with the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer to add color to my skin, and dotted the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Blissful on the apples of my cheeks. Benefit’s Watt’s Up was a must for a bit of glowy highlighting. Finally, I used one of my favorite summer lipsticks, MAC’s Vegas Volt. This Amplified texture lipstick is the perfect coral for a day at the pool or a bright summer look!
I chose a maxi dress for this summer look because it is so versatile. A long dress can keep you warm in the air conditioning, but it is also cool and light for the hot outdoors. This particular dress is super comfy too! I added the chambray shirt in case my shoulders got cold at work.
Gold accessories always look nice in the summer sun, so I wore my arrow necklace for an extra oomph. My gold ear cuffs always look nice with my hair pulled back as well, so I chose them for this look.
This kind of look is perfect for a day at work or a summer day out! I have been wearing these colors so much throughout the month of June. Let me know if you enjoyed this type of monthly look. I’m hoping to make more in the future as well. Thanks for reading!
