The Look: Subtle July 4th

Hey everyone! I may not be celebrating Independence Day in The States  this year, but that doesn’t mean I’m leaving you in the dust! This look is for anyone who wants a 4th of July look that doesn’t scream “red, white, and blue”. I was pretty sick of the basic red lip for this holiday, so I tried something new and interesting! Check it out below.

There’s several musts for a 4th of July look for me. I need comfortable clothes for warm weather and a bold lip. I just find that pretty lipstick is the best way to get compliments and start discussions at otherwise extremely long family parties.

I wanted to try something with a bit of shimmer for this look (it is summer after all!). I used a Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush all over the lid. Then I added some dimension with my Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer in the crease. Bronzers double as a great warm crease color in a pinch! I lined the eyes with my MAC eyeliner in Costa Riche to make the green pop before amping things up with mascara.

I used my typical foundation routine, plus my Butter Bronzer and a bit of blush. The most exciting part of the makeup was a new liquid lipstick, Ofra’s Miami Fever. This burnt orange is a collab by KathleenLights, and it is completely stunning. A color like this makes a great alternative to a basic red!

I chose to wear my hair out of my face for this one because it gets sweaty outside at those barbecues (its got quite a height this time haha). I wore a crop top with a high waisted skirt for a classy look that is cooling as well. The white in the skirt is my shoutout to the flag. I added a red bracelet and blue denim shirt to complete the “red, white, and blue” color scheme. You gotta work July 4th just a little bit right?

I hope this look inspires you to try something a bit unique or interesting this July 4th! Let me know what you favorite summer holiday look is in the comments below. Thanks for reading!
