As many of you may know, liquid lipsticks are all the rage lately! They may be difficult to apply, but they have staying power like nobody’s business. I’ve accumulated quite a few brands and colors over the past year, so I’ve decided to share them with all of you. Read on for swatches and brands!
First up is a brand that the online community is going crazy for. This Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Sao Paulo is a beautiful true nude on me. It goes great with a dramatic eye look or a deep smoky eye. The Ofra liquid lipsticks are intensely pigmented and they go on smoothly like a mousse. I think these lipsticks are the easiest to put on and have the best color payoff. The downside is that they are more pricey, at $20 a pop. They also do transfer a bit onto cups and food, but the color isn’t affected and I don’t mind because they feel so comfortable!
My next lipstick is the Sephora Cream Lip Stain. This brand is more affordable at $14 a tube, and it is definitely a close second to the Ofra lipsticks for me. The texture is creamy and easy to apply, even for the darker colors. It also has great staying power, although it does fade a bit more with eating than the other liquid lipsticks I have. I have the color 01 Always Red and 10 Mandarin Muse (above). I do think that the lighter orange doesn’t apply as smoothly, but the red is a perfect cool classic color. The only real downside to this product is the lack of color selection. Both Ofra and Coloupop have a better range.
My last brand is Coloupop’s Ultra Matte Lips. I have the color Ouiji, which is a lovely pink/coral for the summer. The color payoff on this range is fantastic and the selection is ridiculous. This is the best deal at $5. However, the texture on this lipstick is not my favorite. It is very watery and difficult to apply. If you apply one nice, thin layer, they are extremely comfortable. However, if you try to layer at all, they become weird and chunky. Despite these issues, this stuff does not BUDGE all day. It doesn’t transfer either. So if those are your main concerns, it makes a good budget choice.
I’ve got the swatches in the light here as well. I love liquid lipstick for the pigmentation and staying power (reapplying at work can be a real pain!). They aren’t for the timid however, so experiment well before buying a bunch of them.

Wow! Those coral and red are super elite and what a great pigmentation!
