Review: Empty Products Nov. 2016

Hey all! I hope those of you in America had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’ve prewritten a little empty product post for you guys as I enjoy my chill vacation back home. Read on for the reviews on these products that I finally finished!

IMG_3962.jpgI’m going to start these reviews with my favorite product of the bunch, the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. I’ve used both the gel and the lotion in this Clinique line, and I’m a big fan. The company definitely pushes the lotion more, but I find it a bit sticky for my liking. I have normal/combination skin that gets more oily than dry. The gel formula was recommended for people with oily skin, so I decided to try it out. This product is definitely my favorite nightly moisturizer. It sinks into the skin and leaves a moisturized and dry barrier so I can go right to sleep. I also think it is a worthwhile buy because the price is just $26 for the large bottle. It took me a good year and a half to use up this bottle. That is an awesome investment. I haven’t bought a new one since May 2015. So if that doesn’t say something, I don’t know what does!

img_3963The next product doesn’t get as much of a favorable review. I was given this Lancome Tonique Radiance by my mom (the brand is a bit expensive for me) and it was good enough to use up, but not good enough to buy again. It is advertised as a exfoliator and toner. I replaced by Benton Aloe toner with this product and I wasn’t super satisfied with the switch. The product smells strongly of pure alcohol, and it can burn the face. I think it’s just too strong for my skin. I don’t think that brands should add alcohol to products, because it is so harsh on the skin (the Korean philosophy avoids alcohol usually). The product didn’t hurt me enough to stop using it, but I prefer the gentleness and effectiveness of my Benton toner and my Paula’s Choice AHA exfoliator.

img_3964The final product I finished is the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I live by this eyeshadow primer. It keeps my oily lids under control all day. And the small tube will last you forever, even when you use it every day! I’ve had this particular bottle for almost 3 years (since summer 2014!) and I just now ran out. It is definitely worth the price tag because of how long it lasts and the effectiveness of the product. There are usually lots of sales on Ulta for half off as well! So keep an eye out.

I hope you enjoyed my reviews on these empty products! It took me a long time to finish the primer potion and moisturizer, so I was excited to share my feelings about them. Have fun Black Friday shopping or watching Gilmore Girls today (like me!!). See you next week!
