The Look: Casual Coffee Date

Hey everyone! This post is for people like me, who might be just a little bit “dating challenged”. We all know how it goes: you schedule a date, you get super nervous, and then you channel all your energy into a look that is perfect for the specific occasion (unless you aren’t crazy like me. Maybe you just get dressed haha). This look is focused on a very casual date at a coffee shop. Read on for the rest of the look!

My goal for a casual date look is to look a little nicer than a normal day at work, while also keeping myself comfortable. The weather has already gotten a little chilly up here in Chicago, so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t cold outside either.

My favorite thing about the Fall is wearing Autumn makeup colors. I love the deeper browns and plums for eyes and dark vampy lips. You may recognize this eyeshadow look from about a year ago, in my Fall Outing post. I used a favorite Clinique trio of mine. This trio isn’t sold all together, but it is made up of the Strawberry Fudge Duo and the darkest color in the Morning Java Quad. I used the pink color all over my lid, the mid tone in my crease, and the dark brown in the outer corner. I also used the Nyx Tres Jolie black eyeliner to finish off the look before applying mascara.

I used my It Cosmetics CC Cream for foundation and my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. The shade of the cc cream is a bit pale, but I think that suits me in the Fall. I added the Clinique blush in Cupid to the apples of my cheeks because it is a chill neutral color. I finished the makeup with my all-time favorite mauve lip color, Colourpop’s Lumiere. This color is my #1 lipstick to grab when I don’t know what to wear. It is unbelievably flattering on everyone in my opinion.

As you saw in previous pictures, I wore my purple beanie to keep my ears warm in the cold weather. It also helps that you only have to dry shampoo your bangs when you wear a hat haha! I wore a denim shirt under my sweater because I love the layered look and it was too cold for just one or the other. I chose dark denim jeans so they wouldn’t clash with my shirt (this is a bigger problem then you might think) and combat boots for my ultimate fall comfort. Finally, I wore my beautiful blue Triforce necklace. It’s one of my favorite statement accessories (Thanks to my bae Cheratomo).

I hope this look helps anyone who is struggling on coffee date conduct! I’m no expert at dating, but I sure know how to dress you for one! Tell me your favorite date look in the comments. Thanks for reading!
